what and when to eat in Ogliastra… that’s not the easiest question, and the answer is not easy as well. The reason why is because tastes and needs can be different, and sometimes the offer can be small because of the offseason.
But let’s start: here in the nearby there are a few places where you can have a dinner. There is the “il Castello” pizzeria, managed by Cristian, my climbing and hiking mate. It’s open on the weekends in the offseason and 7/7 in the high season. There are several restaurants in Santa Maria Navarrese and Tortolì (few minutes driving) and a few “secret places” where you have to make reservations.
One is for a typical Sardinian dinner, handmade by the owners and… highly recommended!
The other is a small wine producer that offers small archeo-botanic tours and great wine tasting! I have to warn you: it might be dangerous, the wine is too good!
